Mobile Hotspot settings for Samsung Fascinate tethering
Your Samsung Fascinate can be used for 3G tethering, while you don’t have to downlaod other apps, you can set it on your phone. by using the Mobile Hotspot you can use Samsung Fascinate as a wireless modem. Configure your 3G Mobile hotspot application and then activate it, you have to know that this application cosumes battery quickly and also ask for data service, you’d better have a data plan, and remember to turn the 3G tethering off when you don’t need it, or it will give you a painful experience.

-Set Mobile Hotspot application
1. From the Home screen, touch Menu > Settings> Wireless & networks > Mobile hotspot settings.
2. Touch Menu > Settings to configure:
• 3G Mobile Hotspot: Turn Mobile hotspot On or Off. When On, a check appears in the check box.
•Name: View and edit your phone’s name, used for Mobile hotspot connections.
• Hide my device: Touch to hide your device from other devices searching for a hotspot. When enabled, a check appears in the check box.
• Password: Touch to require a password to access your phone as a hotspot, and set a password. When enabled, a checkmark appears in the check box. ( By default, your phone’s Mobile hotspot password is your phone number. To change the password, touch Password, then enter a new password )
-Activate Mobile Hotspot 3G tethering
1. From the Home screen, select Applications > 3G Mobile Hotspot.
2. Touch 3G Mobile Hotspot to turn the service on. Read the
information about 3G Mobile Hotspot, then touch Continue
to proceed.
3. 3G Mobile Hotspot consumes battery power. Read the
information about battery usage, then touch Turn on Mobile
Hotspot to proceed.
4. Your phone establishes a connection to the network for the
mobile hotspot service.
5. Activate Wi-Fi on your PC or other device, then follow the
prompts on your phone and device to connect.
