How to disable 3G on Samsung Wave S8500
The network type on your Samsung Wave S8500 is automatically 3G, but you don’t always need to use 3G, it makes the battery life very short, you can disable 3G on your Samsung Wave, that will enhance the battery life. -Press the Menu key
-Touch Settings
-Touch Connectivity
-Scroll to and touch Network
-Touch Network mode
-Touch GSM 900/1800
-Touch Set.
After doing above steps on Samsung Wave S8500, the network type is 2G, if you want to turn on 3G, you can select UMTS 900/2100.
